Marsden, Heart of the South Pennines

Marsden Landscape

Marsden

Marsden is a very special place. A no-nonsense Pennine Mill Town steeped in history, and surrounded by wild and beautiful National Trust moorland. It is a thriving cultural centre too, with its own theatre company based in the magnificently restored Mechanics Institute.

Whilst peacefully situated, the village has good transport links, with the main M62 motorway only 15 minutes away, and regular direct rail links to Manchester, Leeds and Wakefield

Nearby attractions include the National Museum of Photography and Television, with its amazing six storey high IMAX cinema screen, Eureka! childrens hands on discovery museum in Halifax, and the new Royal Armouries museum in Leeds

There are plenty of places to stay and to eat in the village and surrounding areas, and to round off your trip, why not have a full body massage and Turkish Bath in the 19th Century Royal Baths in nearby Harrogate!
